The Polish parish of Holy Trinity Church was founded as a branch church of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church a few blocks away. After major disagreements that lasted years, Holy Trinity achieved parish status in 1893. In the LDS catalog, Holy Trinity is listed as "Holy Trinity Mission" which distinguishes it from another church of the same name.

Marriages

From the initial marriage records, one might think that most all the brides and grooms were born in Chicago. That's unlikely particularly since later records started to include more detailed information about where the people were from-- and most of them were born in Poland. Unlike St. Stanislaus Kostka where most of the early parishioners were from West Prussia or Poznania, Holy Trinity's parishioners were primarily from the Kingdom of Poland (Russian partition) and Galicia (Austrian partition) from the time when birthplaces began to be listed.
